Semi-Private Climb Itinerary
Day 1 • Hike to Camp Muir • 10,100f
Meet in the town of Ashford at the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Gear check and drive to Paradise Meadows trailhead. Hike to Camp Muir. A program introduction and Leave No Trace lecture will be held. We reserve the option of conducting our one-day climb school on Day 1 from Paradise Meadows and hiking to Camp Muir on Day 2.
Day 2 • Camp Muir • 10,100ft
A pre-climb discussion and basic climb school will be taught.
Day 3 • Summit Day • Mount Rainier • 14,411ft
Summit day starts early. We begin roped climbing crossing the Cowlitz Glacier and passing over Cathedral Gap to Ingraham Flats. We take a short break and traverse to the base of Disappointment Cleaver. The climb continues up the DC route reaching the top of the clever at 12,300’. After a rest break we climb the upper Emmons glacier to high break at 13,500’. The route then climbs the final snow dome to the summit crater and a short walk to Columbia Crest the summit of Mount Rainier. Descend to camp at Ingraham Flats and return to Paradise.
Optional Day 4 • Camp Muir and hike to Paradise
Pack our gear and return to the trailhead.
Plan to depart late evening or the day after the climb ends.
