Mount Rainier Climb Overview
5 Days • Mount Rainier National Park
We are now taking reservations for our 5-day Semi-Private Climb during the 2016 summer season. Our July 11-15th Rainier climb allows for a maximum of 4 climbers and 2 guides. This climb ascends via Camp Muir and the Disappointment Clever route. The climb allows more time on the mountain for those who desire a slower pace or in the event of bad weather.
As the most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States, Mount Rainier with its 26 major glaciers provides an excellent climbing experience situated within a pristine wilderness environment. “The Mountain“ as referred to by locals has all the features of much higher glaciated peaks making it an exceptional training ground for aspiring climbers. NW Mountain Guides climb the classic Disappointment Clever route to the upper Emmons glacier reaching the Columbia Crest summit at 14,411 feet. Mount Rainier’s Muir route is approached from Paradise Meadows and ascends the Muir Snowfield to Camp Muir at 10,080 feet.
Our Rainier mountain guides have many years of experience on the mountain. Leadership and good decision making are key elements of a safe and successful summit climb. There are many other challenging routes to the summit of Mt. Rainier including Liberty Ridge, the Kautz route, Emmons Glacier and the Tahoma Glacier route.
